Hiking Trails for America Adds Ron Tipton to Board of Directors

Hiking Trails for America is pleased to welcome Ron Tipton to it’s Board of Directors.

A note from Jim Kern, Founder of Hiking Trails for America:

“To know anything about Ron Tipton would be to know he fits perfectly with the mission of Hiking Trails for America: How can we close the gaps in our National Scenic Trails? The chart below illustrates the challenge.

Ron walked the entire length of the Appalachian Trail in 1978. How sweet that he was selected to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy 35 years later. During those intervening years, he was part of the advocacy and / or management team of four non-profit conservation organizations: The Wilderness Society, the National Audubon Society, the World Wildlife Fund,  the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), and later a founding member of the Appalachian Long Distance Hiking Association (ALDHS).

We are thrilled to welcome Ron to the team!”
